The global economy is set to grow, but this growth has to align with the urgent need for climate action and sustainability.
This means a transformation in businesses, industries, and communities.
At the heart of this transformation lies green skills - the expertise needed to reduce emissions, biodiversity loss, adapt to a changing climate, and increase the resilience of the UK's economy and infrastructure.
But 794,000 young people in the UK are not in education, employment, or training. Half of young people between the ages of 16-25 have never heard about "green jobs", and those that have often think they pay poorly or don't have enough security.
Jobs That Matter is here to change that.
We're creating accessible pathways and connecting young people to the wealth of steady, well-paid careers that accelerate the transition to net zero, and connecting climate-committed companies to the talent they need.
We know there are so many jobs that matter and really make a difference. Here, we're focusing on:
A Greener Future
Jobs that contribute to preserving or restoring the environment and our planet, and help us transition to cleaner industries.
Sustainability
Work that helps meet all our needs using the resources we have, without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same.
Resilience
Jobs that help mitigate the effects of climate change - making industries, and our communities, stronger.
believes that everyone should have the chance to succeed.
The King’s Trust empowers young people regardless of their background, building confidence and helping achieve their goals. Supporting those aged 11 to 30, The King’s Trust provides resources to access job opportunities.

The King’s Trust, formerly the Prince's Trust, is a charity that helps young people from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.
The courses offered by The Trust help young people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work and access job opportunities. They do this because they recognise that having a job or running a business can lead to a more stable, fulfilling life.
The King’s Trust has the ambition that 40% of young people they work with will be from the most deprived postcodes, 50% to be from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background. and 50% to be young women.
Since its founding by HM The King in 1976 (when he was HRH The Prince of Wales), the Trust has helped more than a million young people across the UK.
By helping young people today, the benefits will be felt for years to come – not just for those they support, but for their communities and the wider economy.
