Volunteering roles

Volunteering

Volunteering is an excellent way to gain skills and experience while making a real impact. Here we've curated a few volunteering opportunities from across the UK:

STEM Learning is looking for Climate Ambassadors from a broad range of backgrounds to help deliver meaningful change on sustainability and climate change within the education system.

Climate Ambassadors work with nurseries, schools and colleges to develop climate action plans. Climate action plans will be designed to bring together all the work that education settings are doing on sustainability and climate change. They will cover decarbonisation, adaptation and resilience, biodiversity and climate education and green careers.

You don’t need to be an expert in all these topics- you can focus your time working on things that align with your experience. You'll be provided with training and development to help you make the most of your skills, and there will be opportunities for you to work with the leaders, staff, young people and governors within your paired educational setting.

As a STEM Ambassador, you'll offer your time, passion, and energy to visit schools, colleges, and youth group organisations to deliver a range of requests from teachers and youth group leaders who want to link STEM subjects to the real world of work.

Volunteers do not need to have a background in education. STEM Learning offer training and support to enable Ambassadors to confidently deliver a range of activities to young people, including career talks.

If you have a passion to inspire the next generation in STEM, whether you are self-employed or work for a small, medium, or large STEM organisation, you can join the STEM Ambassador community!

Are you passionate about urban trees and the environment? Do you enjoy taking photos, drawing illustrations or creating content for social media?
